The Green QR Code Company (CIC)

The Green QR Code Company is a Community Interest Company (CIC) limited by guarantee.  This means;

• We are a properly formed and constituted Community Interest Company registered with Companies House.   
• We are a not-for-profit organisation. As a matter of law, we cannot sell shares or distribute profits to shareholders. 
• All profits must be reinvested in the company or given to charities or CICs with a similar mission to our own and with the approval of the Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies

We chose this company structure because we believe the company should be free from all encumbrances and agendas that might compromise our mission.

Our motivation is solely to deliver our mission; to reduce and eliminate, dramatically and permanently, the environmental damage that occurs when people dispose of consumer products that they no longer want or need.

Our vision is that the company will eventually be self-sustaining by charging a small registration fee for products registered on the platform. However, we can’t get to that stage without some initial financial support. We are pursuing government and corporate grants and other sources of funding, but are also hoping to develop a crowd-funding model which would be consistent with our desire for independence.
